Giving a foundation for the future Independent Day School for Boys and Girls from three and a half to eleven years.
|
Now in its seventy ninth year, Ayscoughfee Hall School recently went back to its roots by returning to Welland Hall, the grand old Grade II building from which the school spawned in 1920 before moving to Ayscoughfee Hall itself. Much has changed during these eight decades but central to the success of the school and its pupils is the continuing emphasis on each child having a firm grasp of the basics. Maths, English and science are of course given top priority but the fullest possible curriculum is taught, including French from the reception class. |

Methods are also fairly traditional although state-of-the-art technology is widely used throughout the school. Pupils benefit from the dedicated computer suite with hardware for each child and an extensive range of software for every curricular area. Children can surf the Internet and each has his or her own e-mail address. With class size in all year groups limited to twenty, excellent facilities including specialist teachers for French, music and PE and an enviable record in eleven-plus and sporting successes, places at the school are at a premium. However, perhaps the most appealing factor for parents - prospective as well as current - is the caring atmosphere that is evident throughout the school. A full prospectus is available from the school by calling 01775 724733 or online and personal visits are welcomed by the headmaster. Welland
