SILVER are able to produce most forms of holographic images, and can advise on the best format suitable for your particular application, we will offer consultation as part of our design service in order to achieve the best results from existing artwork or new designs. The following list details types of holograms that we are able to produce, together with a brief summary of their most common application areas. |
|
DIFFRACTIVE DOT MATRIX The most common type of image in use today, computer generated, individual dots diffract the whole spectrum of light at different angles, to produce patterns, images and security structures of outstanding clarity and colour, can also be animated and created to produce true R/G/B colour images. The big advantage of this type of image, is that is viewable in most lighting conditions. - Applications: Packaging films, cartons, gift boxes, gift wrap, labels, stickers etc.
3-DIMENSIONAL Types of holographic image recreated from a scale model or live subject, which produces a truly stunning rainbow hologram of real depth and clarity. - Applications: Promotional stickers, labels and some credit cards (Visa), portraits etc. |

2D/3D Created from flat (2D) artwork these type of holograms are produced by means of layering a series of images at different stages to generate an illusion of depth, can also be created in R/G/B to produce true colour images. - Applications: Promotional labels/ stickers, Security labels/packaging etc.
STEREOGRAMS Holograms that move - by taking a series of 2D artwork, video or computer generated artwork etc. these images can be recorded sequentially to reproduce animated moving and three dimensional holograms of stunning visual appeal. - Applications: Promotional labels/ stickers, Security labels etc.
MICRO EMBOSSED STRUCTURES AND TEXTURES These types of images are not holographic or diffractive. They can however be used to good effect to reproduce textures and structures that give an illusion of depth to Thin films, packaging, paper, board etc. to recreate perhaps the effect of a product that would be too expensive or not possible to use in certain applications. Examples may be, simulated carbon fibre, brushed aluminum, wood, glass etc. new techniques are now allowing us to produce 3-Dimensional structures and images, as these structures are not dependent on light diffraction, they are viewable and remain the same under all lighting conditions. - Applications: Decorative laminates, papers, film, labels, boxes etc ANY COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE CAN BE CREATED, TO ADD EXTRA SECURITY OR IMAGE ENHANCEMENT. |
